Role Description
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in building comprehensive and engaging educational content and workshops plans tailored to our key populations and professionals.
Use innovative pedagogical and interactive methods to effectively convey content.
Lead dynamic workshops and educational sessions, maintaining audience engagement and participation.
Address the specific needs of the LGBTQ+ community, incorporating an understanding of the complexities of sexuality and consent within the community.
Integrate sensitivity and awareness of issues related to sexual abuse and sexual trauma into educational materials and workshops.
Collaborate with community leaders, support workers, and community members to enhance program offerings and ensure relevance.
Qualifications
Experience in education, with strong abilities in content creation and lesson planning.
Demonstrated pedagogical understanding and creativity in teaching methods.
Charismatic presence with excellent public speaking and group facilitation skills.
Deep familiarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and an understanding of its unique needs and challenges.
Knowledge and sensitivity regarding issues of sexual abuse and sexual trauma among men+.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work following agile principles with a diverse team and community partners.

MenAsWell provide their service users with a free course of six, one-to-one, online therapy sessions, aimed at gaining better stabilisation, establishing better understanding of the individual impact of their experience, and planning a pathway forward to greater mental and physical well-being including navigation towards other support options where necessary. In 2024, the charity will also be launching online group support sessions, to maximise upon the shared experiences of victims, through mutual respect, recognition, understanding and peer support.
To best deliver these aims, MenAsWell is looking for a volunteer Dutch speaking psychotherapist or psychologist to join their team. The existing team draws expertise from people experienced in corporate management, as well as key workers for other major international charities, and the support of a board of directors, safeguarding compliance and best practise for both survivors and charity workers.
Survivors reach us through email and through our dedicated call-back helpline. You will receive referrals and coordinate with the survivor yourself a convenient time for you both to meet (by phone or video, depending on the client).
The foundation is looking for the following:
A fluent Dutch speaker with a good level of English
2 to 3 hours volunteer hours availability each week
A recognised qualification to practise in the field of either psychology or
Psychotherapy (Would also suit final year students of psychology or psychotherapy looking for field experience as part of their professional development)
A background of, or a strong wish to develop, thorough understanding of trauma therapy related to sexual violence among men and the LGBTQIA+ community
Field experience of similar presentations

- Support and guidance to optimise client outcome with one hour Supervision offered each month paid for by Men As Well
- For student applicants, mentorship with our experienced psychotherapist
